Is pool water safe for dogs?

A properly maintained swimming pool is generally safe for our pets to swim in.
Pool water, be it chlorine or salt water, is not considered harmful in most cases. However, there are a few things to keep in mind.

Everyone who swims consumes some amount of water.
Children and animals tend to swallow more than adult humans.
Drinking pool water can lead to disruption of the gastrointestinal tract, leading to nausea, vomiting, and damage to the animal's esophagus.
In rare cases, drinking excessive amounts of pool water can cause a dangerous condition called water poisoning.

Chemicals used to maintain pool water can cause skin irritation and dryness in both humans and animals, especially if they swim frequently.

Be sure to rinse your dog's coat after swimming in the pool and regularly check their skin for redness, flaking or other problems. Contact your veterinarian if the skin looks abnormal. Make sure of the chlorine level because high chlorine levels are irritating to the skin of many dogs.

How can dogs affect your pool?

Many pool experts say that a dog in a pool will have the same effect on water as three people.
Any loose or dead hair on your dog's coat will end up in the pool water, affecting the filtration system and chemical balance.

You can reduce the negative impact your dog has on the pool by keeping your dog clean and well-groomed. Trim his claws regularly and keep them smooth. Bathe your dog regularly and brush their coat well.
Before letting your dog enter the pool, brush it well and then rinse it with water.

Remember to keep your pool and its equipment in good condition so that it is safe for all swimmers.
Closely monitor the chemical balance so that its water is properly treated whenever needed.

With the proper maintenance of the pool undertaken by our company, but also with the proper care of your dog, you can enjoy swimming with your beloved friend!
